Terms of Use
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms are the rules for using appversegames.com and the AppVerse Games web games and our Android and Windows games when they launch. We have written them in plain language. By using the site or a game you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or games.
1. Who we are
AppVerse Games is based in South Africa. “We” and “us” mean AppVerse Games. Our contact details are at the end of these terms.
2. Who can use our games
Our site is for a general audience, and our games are suitable for all ages. You do not need an account to play. Many games are free. Some are paid or offer a subscription (see section 9). If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to read these terms with you and agree to them for you. Only an adult may make a purchase, support us on Ko-fi or contact us.
3. What you may do
You may play our games and read our content for your own personal, non-commercial use. We give you a personal licence to do that. It is not exclusive, you cannot transfer it, and we can withdraw it if you break these terms.
4. What you may not do
- Copy, sell, rent or redistribute our games, code, artwork or text.
- Embed or frame our games on another website or app without our written permission.
- Decompile or reverse engineer a game, except where the law allows it.
- Use bots, scrapers or other automated tools on the site.
- Click ads artificially, or use any tool that creates false ad views or clicks.
- Interfere with the site’s security, or try to reach parts of it that are not public.
- Use the site or games for anything unlawful.
5. Who owns what
We own the AppVerse Games name and logo and the code, design, artwork and text of our games and site, or we use them under licence. Copyright and trade mark laws protect them.
Traditional games such as Sudoku and Morabaraba belong to everyone. Our own versions of them are ours. Google Play, Android, Microsoft and other names belong to their owners. Our games include open-source software, which stays under its own licences.
6. Feedback
We welcome ideas and bug reports. If you send us a suggestion, you agree that we may use it without payment or credit.
7. Ads and links to other sites
Our free games are funded by advertising. Google chooses the ads. We block sensitive ad categories so that ads suit a general, family audience, but we do not choose individual ads and do not endorse the advertisers. Dealings with an advertiser are between you and the advertiser.
The site links to app stores, Ko-fi and social networks. We do not control those services, and their own terms and privacy policies apply. See How AppVerse Games Is Funded.
8. Supporting us on Ko-fi
Support through Ko-fi is voluntary and for adults only. It is a gift and buys no product, service or in-game advantage. Ko-fi and its payment partners process the payment under their own terms.
Gifts are normally not refundable. If you paid by mistake, email us within 14 days and we will help put it right. Nothing here limits any refund right the law gives you.
9. App stores, paid games and subscriptions
If you install a game from Google Play or the Microsoft Store, that store’s terms also apply. If the store’s terms and ours conflict about the store’s own service, the store’s terms win.
Some of our games are paid, and some offer a subscription. You buy these through the app store, not from us directly. The store shows the price, including tax, before you pay. It takes the payment and sends your receipt. We never see your card details.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the store’s subscription settings. You keep what you paid for until the end of the current period, and you are not charged again. If the price of a subscription changes, the store will tell you beforehand and you can cancel before the new price applies.
Refunds are handled by the store under its refund policy. If something you paid for does not work, email play@appversegames.com and we will help put it right. Nothing in these terms limits a refund or cancellation right the law gives you, including under the South African Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, or the consumer law of your own country.
A purchase gives you a personal licence to use the paid game or feature. It does not transfer ownership of the game. If we withdraw a subscription, it ends at the close of the period you have paid for.
10. Guides and other content
Our guides and strategy articles are general information for entertainment. We try to keep them accurate but do not promise that they are complete or free of errors.
11. Changes and availability
We may add, change or remove games and features. We try to keep the site running but do not promise that it will always be available or free of faults. Game progress is saved on your device, so clearing your browser data or uninstalling an app can erase it.
12. Important: limits on our responsibility
Please read this section carefully. It limits what you can claim from us.
- The site and games are provided “as is”. We make no promise that they will meet your needs, run without interruption or be free of errors.
- We are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost data, lost game progress, lost profit or lost opportunity, or for anything a third-party service, advertiser or app store does.
- Our total responsibility to you is limited to R1,000 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is more.
These limits apply only as far as the law allows. They do not exclude responsibility for gross negligence, fraud or deliberate wrongdoing, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else the law says cannot be excluded.
If you are a consumer, you keep every right the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, or the consumer law of your own country, says cannot be taken away.
13. If you break these terms
We may block access to the site or games if you break these terms. If your breach causes us loss, we may hold you responsible for it as far as the law allows.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Children’s Privacy and Parents’ Guide explain how we handle personal information.
15. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on our site infringes your copyright, email play@appversegames.com with:
- your name and contact details;
- the work you own and where the copy appears on our site;
- a statement that you are the owner or act for the owner, and that your notice is accurate.
We will review it and remove infringing material promptly.
16. Law and disputes
South African law governs these terms, and South African courts may hear disputes about them. If you are a consumer in another country, you keep the protection of that country’s mandatory laws and may bring a claim in your local courts where those laws give you that right.
Please contact us first. Most problems can be solved by email.
17. General
- We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and change the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- These terms, with the policies linked in section 14, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site and games.
