Children’s Privacy and Parents’ Guide
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This short guide is for parents, guardians and teachers. It forms part of our Privacy Policy.
Who our games are for
AppVerse Games is a general-audience site. Our puzzle and board games are suitable for all ages and family-friendly. They are not directed at children, but children may play them.
What our games do not do
- No accounts, sign-ups or passwords.
- No requests for a name, email address, photo, location or contacts.
- No chat or messaging between players.
Game progress and settings are saved on the device being used. We do not receive them.
Ads are filtered to suit all ages
Ads help keep our games free. On the website, ads come from Google AdSense, and we block sensitive ad categories such as gambling, dating, alcohol and other adult themes. Our Android and Windows apps, when they launch, will use Google AdMob with the maximum ad content rating set to G (General audiences).
Ads are personalised only if someone agrees to advertising cookies in our cookie banner. Otherwise the ads shown are not based on browsing history. Ads sit apart from the game controls, but tapping one opens another site, so we suggest staying nearby when young children play.
What parents can do
- Turn off personalised ads. Reject advertising cookies in the cookie banner. Select the cookie icon at the bottom of any page to change your choice later. The choice applies to everyone using that browser.
- Use parental controls. Your device’s parental controls can limit browsing and downloads.
- Report an ad. If you see an ad you think is unsuitable, tell us at play@appversegames.com. Include the page, the date and a screenshot if you can.
- Contact us for your child. Our email address, contact form and Ko-fi page are for adults. If your child wants to reach us, please write on their behalf.
Children’s information and the law
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Privacy laws protect children differently from country to country:
| Where | Who counts as a child | What the law requires |
|---|---|---|
| South Africa | Under 18 | A parent or guardian must consent before a child's personal information is processed (POPIA) |
| United States | Under 13 | Verifiable parental consent before collecting a child's personal information (COPPA) |
| European Economic Area | Under 13 to 16, depending on the country (the age of digital consent) | A parent must consent where consent is the legal ground (GDPR) |
| United Kingdom | Under 13 | The same, with extra design standards for online services children are likely to use |
If your child has sent us information
If you think your child has sent us personal information, for example through the contact form, email play@appversegames.com. We will delete it and not keep a copy. You can also ask whether we hold any information about your child, and tell us to stop any further collection. We may ask a few questions to confirm that you are the child’s parent or guardian. We reply within 30 days.
